BRUGMANN: a star is coming…

On a sunny Sunday, I was wandering around in Brussels, and came accross a restaurant that looked pretty sophisticated. I walked into the lovely tiny parc right behind it – Parc de l’Abbé Froidure, who founded Les Petits Riens -, found the terrace of the Brugmann perfect, and decided that I would definitely pay a visit to the restaurant someday.

Three months later, I was invited by my blogger friend Chifa to the 3-year-birthday of the restaurant – with Brussels’ top of the crop. The place – inside and outside – was beautiful, the design really classy and well-tought, and the walking diner promising.

A few days after, I took my boyfriend with me, and we celebrated the end of another workhaolic week. And: it was amazing. We had the “Menu Carte Blanche” which I warmly recommend.

In short:

+ Refined cuisine
+ Passionate sommelier
+ Sophisticated design
+ Different menus (from only 55€!)
+ Very good price-quality ratio (especially in Brussels, where you can end up paying the same price for really basic food)
+ Good champagne (Perrier-Jouët)

– I wasn’t convinced by the cannelés (I love desserts too much to be indulgent when it comes to them)
– I found it not up to the standing of the place to serve Nespresso instead of real, freshly ground coffee
